The Word of Life Church has the promise of God “I will raise up mighty preachers and pastors”. Indeed, from just one founder Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong with a few dozen early believers, God has led many people to the Church, many people returned from abroad, equipped with the Word of God, and became His servants. After 20 years with 5 generations of Pastors, up to now, the Vietnamese Word of Life Church has more than 60 pastors, in addition to nearly 200 evangelists and missionaries across the country, ready for the work of God in Vietnam as well as neighboring countries.

I will raise up from among you mighty preachers and pastors, and you will go out. I will raise up mighty servants, mighty churches in this nation, and they will go out to reap the harvest.

Biography of Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong, Senior Pastor of the Word of Life Church in Vietnam

Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong was born on October 22, 1972 in Son Cong, Ung Hoa, Hanoi. Currently, the Pastor and his wife, Pastor Le Thuy Phuong, and their daughter, Pham Thanh Thien Huong, are living in La Khe ward, Ha Dong district. In 1989, after graduating from Ung Hoa C High School, young man Pham Tuan Nhuong registered for the electronics major at the University of Science and Technology. As one of the candidates who passed the exam with high scores, he was sent to the Russian Federation to study and research.

In 1995, after five and a half years of study, he received a master's degree in the field of manufacturing locomotives and subway engines. These five years of study were also the time with the most changes in his life, leading to a turning point in his life. At the beginning of his study, young man Pham Tuan Nhuong also tried to find many things in life, but everything was empty. Time passed until the summer of his third year of university, he noticed an extraordinary change in the lives of his Russian classmates. Jesus had come. Through the testimonies of his friends, through the Church and many other events, in the summer of 1993, the young man Pham Tuan Nhuong decided to accept the love of the Savior Jesus as the direction of his life. Also in that year, the Prophecy from God came to his heart: "In the future, you will not follow the profession you studied but will go and preach the faith you have received." That Word was truly the Word of God. For nearly thirty years, that Word has been alive and fulfilled every day.

In 1995, two years after believing in God, moved by God's love and baptized in the Holy Spirit, he vowed to dedicate his whole life to God and began to serve Him. At first, he obeyed God and went to the Sokol dormitory of Vietnamese people to build and care for a cell group. Immediately after graduating from university, he attended the first and second year of Bible School. While studying at the Bible School, he served the Vietnamese Church in Russia and participated in translation. In 1999, through the confirmation of God, he married his wife, Ms. Le Thuy Phuong (now a Pastor). The young couple served God together until 2002, when God called him, his wife and their then 13-month-old daughter, to return to Vietnam and build up God's work.

By the grace of God, on April 28, 2004, Pastor Christian Åkerhielm (now the president of Word of Life International) came to Vietnam and officially announced the establishment of the Word of Life Church in Vietnam with the vision: "Equipt My people with the word of faith, show them the spiritual weapons they have, teach them how to use them, and send them into victorious battle for the Lord". On this occasion, Pastor Christian Åkerhielm also laid hands to confirm the position of Pastor for Pham Tuan Nhuong. At the same time as the prophecy through God's servant, God also revealed to Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong a clear vision as a confirmation of the prophecy that He would raise up a strong Word of Life center in Vietnam, to be a place for discipleship, to raise up many harvesters, many servants of God for the purpose of bringing the gospel to all of Vietnam and neighboring countries.

In 2010, during a visit to the Church, Pastor Christian laid hands to confirm the position of Pastor for 6 people: Nguyen Dinh Hung, Pham Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Huy Hoang, Khong Vu Dung, Vu Dinh Tuan (now no longer in the Word of Life) and Nguyen Chau Ca Lep (now no longer in the Word of Life).

In 2011, during the annual camp on September 2, God brought Pastor Mats-ola Ishoel, the Chief Pastor of the Word of Life Center in Moscow, to Vietnam to lay hands to confirm the position of Pastor for 3 people: Nguyen Huu Bao (who was then pastoring the church in Thanh Xuan), Hoang Thanh Hai (who used to do God's work in Ho Chi Minh City, now serving in Australia) and Bui Van Nghia (who returned from Malaysia, currently pastoring the church in Vinh Phuc).

In 2012, during the mission trip to the South and to strengthen and develop the work of God, Senior Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong also laid hands to confirm the position of Pastor for Pastor Dao Van Nhieu to serve God in the South with Pastor Nguyen Minh Hue.

In 2013, Pastor Mats-ola, at the closing ceremony of the advanced pastoral skills course, laid hands to confirm the position of Pastor for three people: Vu Hong Phong from Korea (now pastoring the church in Nghe An), Nguyen Van Mung from Malaysia (now pastoring the church in Ba La) and Nguyen Hieu Phuoc Vinh (currently pastoring the church in Vinh Long).

Day by day, God raises up more and more Pastors, many teachers, evangelists and other staff who are working side by side, sharing the vision of occupying the land for God and bringing the presence of the Holy Spirit, bringing the light of Jesus and the Kingdom of God to all 63 provinces ò Vietnam, to neighboring countries, to dark areas that have not known the light.
