FOUNDATION
The Vietnamese Word of Life Church was born in a vision, and received the promise from God “on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.” And the work that is born of God will be steady forever. Even though it encountered many difficulties and persecutions in the beginning, the Church still overcame and stood firm, initiating the great works that God called for the Vietnamese people and neighboring countries.
The Holy Spirit says: I will establish you, I will build you, I will build you as a body and upon this rock I will build My church and all the gates of Hades will not overpower it. The Holy Spirit says: I put supernatural protection over you. I will send my angel to you and my angel will guard you. I will watch over you, I watch over you and never close my eyes and never sleep.

In 1990, Pastor Ulf Ekman, along with the Word of Life in Sweden, under the guidance and inspiration of God, entered the mission field in the Russian Federation.
In 1990, Pastor Ulf Ekman, along with the Word of Life in Sweden, under the guidance and inspiration of God, entered the mission field in the Russian Federation. God performed many great miracles and signs to confirm the mission in Moscow. Through the work of God, He established a strong Word of Life Center in Moscow and thousands of Word of Life Churches throughout the former Soviet Union. The Vietnamese Evangelical Church in Moscow (Russia) was established in that plan. First, Christian students gathered together after the missionary campaigns of God's children from the United States in 1992-1993. In July 1995, that group of believers officially announced themselves as a church. People with new faith and enthusiasm, wanted to bring the Gospel to Vietnamese people who were working and living in a foreign land.
In 1995, some church staff and believers had chances to attend preaching sessions, conferences, and then study Bible school of the Moscow Word of Life Church. Believing that this was God's guidance, the Vietnamese Evangelical Church in Moscow joined the Word of Life in December 2002. The church moved from merging to dissolving into the Word of Life. The group of Vietnamese believers received anointing, under covering, and help from the central church, especially in training and education. The process of integration into the central church has made many Vietnamese believers dream of the day when Vietnam will also have such a center. That is also the crying in the heart of a young man, who is currently the Senior Pastor of the Word of Life church in Vietnam, Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong.

Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong was born in 1972 and believed in God in 1993 while he was a student at the Moscow Energy Institute (MEI). Immediately after believing in God, the young student Pham Tuan Nhuong felt a calling: "In the future, you will not follow the profession you studied but will go and preach the faith you have received." In 1995, he dedicated himself to serve God. In 1997, he begane full-time serving in the church as a pastor's assistant. After completing the pastoral course in 2000, he and his wife and daughter returned to Vietnam with a desire to serve God, although they could not imagine what was waiting for them ahead.
Starting with the first people who received God in Russia and returned to Vietnam, they shared the gospel with their families and relatives, then through relationships came from Russia, they reached people in all provinces and cities and many people believed in God. Dong Anh, a suburban district of Hanoi, is the first gathering place of the Word of Life believers in Hanoi. Praise the Lord for His mighty hand, with the tireless witnessing of the early Christian, the number of believers increased. The group has developed into two groups, in Lien Ha commune and at To intersection, Dong Anh town. At the end of 2003, there was another meeting place at Ms. Nga's house in Long Bien district. At first, after each meeting, the brothers and sisters were invited to the ward police station to explain, but they still persevered in meeting together despite the obstacles.
By the beginning of 2004, the work of God in Dong Anh developed strongly. Despite the persecution, with burning hearts, they continued to persevere in meeting together to worship God and continue going out for evangelism. Faithful to the command to keep meetings, many believers from other provinces even hundreds of kilometers away still remained faithful, such as Ms. Do Thi Duc (now a pastor) from Chi Linh (Hai Duong), Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan from Thai Nguyen city...
On April 28, 2004, Pastor Christian Åkerhielm officially announced the establishment of the Word of Life Church in Vietnam with the prophecy that established the foundation for the church.
April 28, 2004 can be considered a milestone in the history of the Word of Life Church in Vietnam. That day, at a group meeting in Dong Anh town, Hanoi city, the group of Vietnamese believers welcomed a special guest, Pastor Christian Åkerhielm, the International missionary director of the Word of Life Church, from Uppsala, Sweden.
In an anointed meeting, in the presence of the Trinity, in front of God's people, he solemnly announced the establishment of the Word of Life Church in Vietnam. That day, through His servant, God also gave a prophecy that laid the foundation for the Church. Looking back after 20 years, we can see that in reality, many things have happened in many ways exactly as the word from God. On this occasion, Pastor Christian Åkerhielm also laid hands to confirm the position of Pastor for Mr. Pham Tuan Nhuong. At the same time, through prophecy, God also revealed to Pastor Pham Tuan Nhuong a clear vision that He would raise up a strong Word of Life center in Vietnam, to be a place for discipleship, to raise up many harvesters, many people to serve God for the purpose of bringing the gospel to all of Vietnam and neighboring countries. The year 2004 was taken as the official year of founding the Word of Life Church in Vietnam.

The Holy Spirit says: I will send you out, I will do things among you that you cannot imagine. From this little flock I will do great things. You will go out in my power and anointing and I will go with you. You will bring the gospel, you will bring my presence, you will bring my kingdom, you will bring light where there is no light, those in darkness will see that light and they will run to that light, in this city and in other cities. The Holy Spirit says: I will establish you, I will build you, I will build you as a body and upon this rock I will build My church and all the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
The Holy Spirit says: I put supernatural protection over you. I will send my angel to you and my angel will guard you. I will watch over you, I watch over you and never close my eyes and never sleep. I raised you up, I planned this, even before you knew it. I planned it and you were part of my plan. I called you, I appointed you, now I anoint you and send you out. You will go and bear much fruit, much fruit...
I will give you favor, even favor from those you did not expect. Those who were against you will change their attitude, they will turn around and become your friends. I will give you friends in high places, I will give you favor. I will strengthen you, I will give you my authority and you will rule in the spiritual world. You will destroy all darkness and establish my kingdom. You will have great influence in the spiritual kingdom, in your city and in your nation.
In the future, I will strengthen your finances. I will make you very strong in finance so that you can do great things for Me. Listen to my words today, engrave them on your heart because these things will come true.
The Holy Spirit says: I will make this place a training center, many, many, many workers, workers will be trained in this place. They will be equipped with the Word of faith, they will be equipped with spiritual weapons and I will send them out in a victorious battle. They will be raised up from this place and My Spirit will be upon them. They will go out and bring fruit to Me. I will raise up from among you mighty preachers and pastors, and you will go out. I will raise up mighty servants, mighty churches in this nation, and they will go out to reap the harvest.
The Holy Spirit says: Not only to this country, but I have called you specifically to the Southeast Asian countries, to go to all the Southeast Asian countries in the way I lead you. But you must start from your own city and step by step I will lead you to other areas in this country and your neighboring countries. People will come to you and say to you, “Show us, teach us, help us, train us; we want to serve God as you have served Him.” They will come from the east and the west, the north and the south; you shall receive them and bless them.
